unStatute (“the Service”), operated by SamKis Labs (“we”, “us”), helps St. Lucian employers and payroll bureaus produce statutory payroll paperwork — payslips, PAYE remittances, P45, TD5/P11 and AU-1. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and who processes it on our behalf. Contact us at contact@samkislabs.com.

Information we collect

  • Employer account data — your name, email address, organization details and tax registration information, provided when you register and onboard.
  • Employee data you enter — the personal information needed to run payroll, including employee names, pay and earnings, tax-code allowances, and tax and NIS numbers.
  • Billing data — subscription plan and status. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
  • Technical data — basic request metadata and standard server logs used to operate and secure the Service.

How we use your data

We use your data to provide and secure the Service, calculate PAYE and NIS from the tax rules in force, generate the statutory forms you request, process your subscription, send you transactional email (such as password resets), and respond to support requests. We do not sell your data, and we do not use the payroll data you enter for advertising.

Employee data and your responsibilities

Much of the data in the Service concerns your employees. You are the controller of that data; we process it on your behalf to provide the Service. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to enter employee information and for handling it in line with applicable law.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting for your account and payroll records.
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email.

Data retention

We retain your account and payroll records for as long as your account is active, and as needed to meet legal and record-keeping obligations. You may delete individual records within the app, or request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
